UUBorders has led experiential learning trips to the US-Mexico border area several times a year. Due to the need to prioritize the safety and health of the communities we visit (and any trip participants), our in-person immersions are on hold.
But we're back with an online format in 2021!
In partnership with Via International & UURISE (UU Refugee & Immigrant Services and Education), we are excited to offer a new online immersion for UUs and UU-aligned individuals interested in learning and engaging more with the realities of immigration at the California border. Through online virtual visits, attendees will have an opportunity to witness the effect of US Immigration policies from both sides of the border, deepen our faith connection to issues and efforts around immigration justice, and to connect with communities directly impacted by our broken immigration system.
A tentative itinerary for our April 2021 UUBorders Online Immersion is below. Sessions will be spaced out throughout two weekends in April (April 16-18 & April 24-25), with additional independent resources and activities for the week in-between.
Registration for this April 2021 UUBorders is $175.00 per attendee, and covers both program costs and "love offerings"/donations to the communities and organizers with whom attendees will visit.
UUBorders Online Includes:
A copy of your receipt will be emailed to you at the address you provided, as well as a link to the tentative itinerary for your scheduling records.
